Preparing for emergencies or disasters

The current situation surrounding COVID-19 prompts a reminder about some of the information that will help you be ready to face emergencies or disasters, as well as ensuring the safety of emergency services personnel.

Quarantine and emergency interventions

The Ville de Mont-Tremblant Police Department is maintaining its usual coverage of the Ville’s territory and continues to ensure the safety of its residents and their property.

We are, however, requesting that residents of Mont-Tremblant (only) in quarantine contact 819 425-2723 to inform emergency services of their situation.

During any emergency intervention, people are asked to cooperate fully by disclosing information about any trips out of the country, as well as all persons’ state of health.

Emergency preparations for the home

Every household should be prepared to meet its needs for a minimum period of 72 hours. An emergency stash of provisions to meet your essential requirements and those of your family will allow public safety services to respond to the most pressing cases.

To meet your needs for a minimum of three days, you should have a reserve of six (6) litres of water per person; non-perishable food and a hand-operated can opener should also be part of your inventory.

To be able to stay abreast of the situation as it evolves, in the event of an electrical outage, you will need a battery-operated radio and spare batteries. A light source such as a headlamp and/or flashlight, a fire source such as a lighter and/or matches, as well as candles, will provide you with light until the electricity is back on.

Lastly, a first aid kit will allow you to offer basic aid in the event of an accident or incident.
