The 24h Tremblant

One of the biggest philanthropic events of Quebec’s winter season, enjoyed by sportsmen and sportswomen, patrons and celebrities, takes place from December 8 to 10 at Tremblant. The question is, will the 24h manage to beat the record it set last year of $5,900,000?

As these lines are being written, $2,710,580 in donations have been collected and some 507 teams are registered, representing 4,200 participants. They are part of a 24-hour relay that runs from noon on Saturday. In teams of six to 12, they relay day and night in alpine skiing, snowboarding, alpine touring, walking, running or in walking-and-running mode.

The goal of this huge fundraiser remains unchanged: to take in a maximum amount in donations, from which the profits are turned over to three foundations devoted to helping children. Millions of dollars have been collected over the years and given to medical and social not-for-profit organizations such as the Fondation Charles-Bruneau, the Tremblant Foundation and the Fondation CHEO.

Programming, entertainment and musical shows

But the 24h Tremblant is also a huge party during which artists, musicians and DJs provide shows at the base of the slopes. On Friday evening, from 7 p.m. till midnight, the polar night Boreale invites you to bundle up warmly and enjoy a polar bar, musical presentations, entertainment and night skiing. On Saturday evening, still at the base of the slopes, the 24h will start feeling even more like a festival, ever more boisterous and exciting. On Friday, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., the programming means being able to watch children’s first attempts on the snow, a touching activity during which those present will be able to chat with the mentored children and the ambassadors.

So happy 24h to all participants, to the volunteers and – above all – to the children!
