New premises for the Maison de la Famille du Nord

The Maison de la Famille du Nord is happily pursuing its mission in new premises, at 725 rue de Saint-Jovite in Mont-Tremblant. As new owners of the building, the community organization invites families to take advantage of the freshly renovated spaces and the many activities on the calendar.

A successful transition

Thanks to generous donors public and private, the organization was able to acquire the building in September 2023 and transfer its activities there in January 2024. According to executive director Catherine Drouin, purchase of the building with a minimal loan ensures that the organization’s operations will be ongoing. Her team is delighted that the attractive premises finally reflect the quality of the services offered by the organization.

“In 30 years of existence, the Maison de la Famille du Nord has often moved and each time, the members have had to rebuild a feeling of belonging. With this acquisition, they acquire access to a beautiful spot and to nature right in downtown Mont-Tremblant. On the half-acre lot, children can play in a safe yard. It’s so big that one three-year-old child thought it was a park!”

A living mission

Since 1994, the Maison de la Famille du Nord has provided kindly accompaniment, workshops and respite to families of the MRC Des Laurentides with children aged 12 and under, no matter what their financial circumstances. The families already love the new premises: a big island for the collective kitchen, a warm, friendly room for workshops and presentations, and a bright, windowed play space for the children.

An open house will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the official inauguration.

All are welcome!
