Après-ski season unleashed at Farouche

Wild. Untamed. Shy. No, that’s not my Tinder profile. These are synonyms for the French word “Farouche”, from the Latin for “outdoors”. Farouche is also the perfect name for a unique recreo-gastrotourism destination in Lac Supérieur that inspires visitors to shed their urban skins and immerse themselves in some of Québec’s most iconic landscapes.

Farouche began as a dream for Montrealers Geneviève Côté and Jonathan Casaubon in 2017. Five years later, on July 15, 2022, it became a reality in a spectacular location in the Rivière du Diable valley.

Farouche combines an ever-expanding organic Nordic farm with modern luxury camping accommodations and activities like paddle boarding and Hok skiing.

If you prefer to lose yourself in quiet thoughts and majestic surroundings, you can relax in their lush outdoor lounging spaces or their Scandi-style bistro, a bright and welcoming space designed to pull you into the magnificent scenery.

The bistro’s menu changes regularly and features seasonal produce from their farm, as well as a surprisingly expansive selection of artisanal beers, natural wines, ciders and hydromels.

With ski season upon us, locals and visitors alike are always on the hunt for an après-ski scene, and Farouche delivers one of the best. Take in perfect sunsets and breathtaking views of Mont Tremblant in front of the fire while indulging in one of their signature “apero boards”, a stunning array of in-house products accompanied by breads, meats and cheeses from carefully vetted local producers. These must be reserved in advance by phone or online, such is the level of care devoted to each creation.

The bistro is open to all on Fridays 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sundays 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

A wildly singular concept that will unleash your untamed spirit, Farouche serves up a memorable experience not to be missed.
