Galerie 806 welcomes new artists

Galerie 806 - Rue Saint-Jovite

The works of eight well-known artists will be added to those featured in this gallery and there will be interesting meetings with artists in July. The Mont-Tremblant art gallery will now exhibit the works of 15 artists.

Located on the rue de Saint-Jovite in downtown Mont-Tremblant, Galerie 806 has been exhibiting works of recognized artists – most of them from the greater Mont-Tremblant area – for six years.

Until now, the gallery had chosen to show exclusively representational art, particularly that of such well-known artists as Michel Poirier, Nicole Coulombe, Sylvi Beaulac, Josée Desharnais, Steve Tracy, Gerald Trudel, Jean-Marc Pisapia and Marie-Lyne Bourassa. From now on, customers of Galerie 806 will be able to view the works of  famous new artists, including some whose style is very contemporary.

“What’s interesting about these artists is that they are arriving in mid-career,” explains Michel Poirier, artist and founder of Galerie 806. “Some of them have enjoyed terrific media coverage recently and their fame often extends well beyond our national borders. “

The additions result from Michel Poirier’s reflections as well as from suggestions made by some gallery clients “who were looking for very high-end works,” Michel explains.

Among the new works to be admired, or purchased, will be cyclist paintings by Yves Thibodeau, alias Bodo; the landscapes of Holly Ann Friesen and Carole Malcolm; the playful art of Pauline Paquin; the abstract works of Maya Enventov, Johanne Brouillette and Dominik Sokolowski; Canada’s seasons by François Haguier and skiing landscapes by Jean-François Racine.

“They are all major artists,” Michel Poirier stresses. “Jean-François Racine is known for using his skis as an easel, and the seasons of Canada series has won international recognition for François Haguier. We’ll be alternating the works every month so that customers can always see something new,” he concludes.
