Board the local economy train!

A village train station has always been a place to gather, talk with neighbours and either travel or dream of traveling. It‘s the perfect place to meet members of the community, farmers, producers and local artisans.

The train station in the old Mont-Tremblant village (kilometre 92 of the P’tit train du Nord bike path) is a central point of this charming district. The building, an identical copy of the original, today houses the Place de la Gare, where area artists can show their works, mere steps from the lac Mercier beach and a broad range of welcoming shops and businesses.

Mont-Tremblant’s summer market is held just opposite the station on Saturdays, from June 15 to September 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the place for foodies to stock up – in the friendly atmosphere of a charming village – on all kinds of products grown or created by the farmers, cooks, producers and artisans themselves.

Built in 1924, the pretty Labelle station (km 107) was restored and retains all the appeal and vitality of yesteryear. A point of departure for numerous activities, this heritage area features a railway museum and is a gathering point for outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, families and foodies. Starting this year, the Gare de Labelle also holds a market on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from June 30 to September.

The producers are set up in colourful, purpose-built wagons. This is a place to nourish body and soul, where you’ll find bread, cheeses, a wide variety of vegetables, meat and treats…as well as the works of artists and craftspeople.

Public markets support and encourage the local economy and provide an excellent alternative to fast foods and unhealthy foods. The producers care about providing you with high quality, local products: fresh, organic, and grown or made here. Succumb to the pleasure of market shopping! Come treat yourself and meet with friends old and new.
