Dream season for Brittany Phelan
Brittany climbed onto the podium seven times this season and has taken not one, but two gold medals!
On February 25, the Mont-Tremblant native won the FIS Ski Cross World Cup in Reiteralm, Austria. It was her first-ever career victory on the World Cup circuit since she started ski cross in 2016.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment,” she told François Lafleur, of Olympique.ca. “It was time. This is my 17th podium in World Cup and they’ve been saying a lot – teasing me – that I was always a bridesmaid, never a bride. So crossing the finish line in first position […] is an incredible feeling.”
That first victory was followed, on March 16, by a second place at Veysonnaz, Switzerland. Following along with this winning streak, the 32- year-old skier took a second gold in FIS Ski Cross World Cup at Idre Fjäll, Sweden, on March 22. And the season isn’t over…. Our warmest congratulations, Brittany!
