A high-powered program: from Tchaikovsky to Tanguay

 

A passel of stars will be raining on the festival this summer! The 25th Festival Stradivaria, scheduled for July 2 to 30, will feature Guylaine Tanguay, Claude Gauthier, Alexandre Da Costa, King Melrose, Yama Laurent and Mountain Daisie. Seventeen high-quality concerts will be presented in Mont-Tremblant, Mont-Laurier, Rivière-Rouge, Nominingue, Labelle, Oka, Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Sainte-Adèle, Saint-Jérôme and Sainte- Thérèse

The program

On July 11, at Le Patriote theatre in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, artistic director Alexandre Da Costa, conductor and internationally renowned violinist, will present Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Da Costa will share the stage with singers Yama Laurent and Claude Gauthier, who will present the festival’s new official hymn.

On July 20, at the Saint-Jovite church in Mont-Tremblant, well-known singer Guylaine Tanguay will offer her fans a special evening with an intimate voice-guitar concert.

On July 23, at the Mont-Tremblant’s Espace public (downtown), Alexandre Da Costa will lead his musicians with his Stradivarius to present Passion Symphonique with baritone Vladimir Kornéev, originally from the country of Georgia.

On July 26, at the Saint-Jovite church, celebrated violinists Adrian Anantawan and Alexandre Da Costa will unite their passions to present Bach’s Double Concerto for Violins, Piazzolla’s The Seasons, plus a Vivaldi concerto for four violins and orchestra.

On July 27, in the chapel of the Labelle Community Centre, Vladimir Kornéev, pianist John Rooney and Alexandre Da Costa will take their audience on a musical voyage with great French songs, Slavic melodies and pop, jazz and classical favourites.

On July 29, on the outdoor stage of the Parc de la famille of Sainte-Adele, King Melrose will present his interpretation of the great successes of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles, whereas Alexandre Da Costa will reply with his versions of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven.
