Créations Aqua Terra has been landscaping for 20 years. Benoit Lussier, the gardener-landscaper who heads up the company, paints us a blooming portrait. Over the years, he has evolved his passion, honed his talents, and been able to surround himself with loyal, seasoned collaborators who create landscapes that are works of art.
Creativity and technique
“Every new project provides the opportunity to innovate and use my knowledge…so the canvas is created from scratch, inspired by the nature that surrounds it and the current trends,” Benoit Lussier explains.
Reliability
Benoit Lussier remembers the first two contracts he landed in Saint-Sauveur. With pride, he notes that they remain impeccable. A great believer in natural stone, Benoit often integrates stone into his landscapes. Working stone remains one of his specialties.
His story
In 1999, with about ten years of experience, Benoit felt ready to fly on his own, motivated by the desire to take advantage of his techniques with respect to water-filled pools. He favours the methodological approach of Millian Havlin and the inventiveness of Guy Laliberté, two teachers from the institut agroalimentaire – the agri-food industry institute – of Saint-Hyacinthe.
Association
In 2009 he became a member of the APPQ, Quebec’s association of professional landscapers. This mutual assistance network values training and better practices.
The next generation
In his opinion, two types of next generation are emerging. One is more artistic, the other more management-oriented. From his perspective, he says that he has learned to manage over time, because the growth of his business required it. His greatest pride is, without question, his team of twenty or so collaborators.
Créations Aqua Terra offers three categories of service: design of a landscape plan; construction and planting, turnkey; and property maintenance. It has won numerous APPQ awards of excellence and was honoured as Company of the Year by the Chambre de Commerce of greater Mont-Tremblant in 2016.
