Holiday Season at Tremblant

©kevin lemaire

Snow sports season is underway, to the great delight of the folks who love the # 1 ski resort in Eastern North America. To properly celebrate this festive time of year, Tremblant resort will be alive with merrymaking from December 23 to January 8. For the occasion, there’ll be singers, storytellers, music, hosting and other family activities.

The start of the activities coincides with the first day of school vacations, December 23. Christmas decorations workshop, stories and songs will precede the arrival of Santa Claus on December 25. The following day, winter will be the star, with ice sculpting activities as well as hockey and ball games and music shows.

New Year’s activities

To initiate a solemn launch to 2033, vacationers will be invited to watch the amazing torchlight descent before they head for the Place Saint-Bernard to enjoy the musical ambience and to warm up.

Then they can head to the base of the mountain to dance outdoors there until the clock strikes twelve. This will cue the amazing fireworks which signal the start of the new year. Celebrations will then continue in the pedestrian village.

TIPS FROM THE LOCALS

The “musts” of Tremblant’s pedestrian village

If you’re lucky enough to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s in Tremblant, you’ll certainly spend some enjoyable time wandering the streets of the pedestrian village, where you’ll discover a number of shops and restaurants.

The best hamburger in town? Head for Le P’tit Caribou which serves a burger made of wagyu beef from the local farm Boeuf Tremblant. Made on-site with local ingredients and a lot of heart, the new items on the menu at the P’tit Caribou – one of the world’s top after-ski bars – are truly surprising. We also tasted the very best poutine – as well as nachos – ever. Located at 125 chemin de Kandahar.

If you’re looking for a good specialty coffee, with or without alcohol; a fabulous hot chocolate; a chai latte or a delicious hot wine; you’ll find them at Bistro Au Grain de Café at 3035 chemin de la Chapelle, higher up in the Village (facing the SAQ liquor store).

How about a good beer from a craft brewery and food worthy of the best pub? Head for Microbrasserie La Diable in the heart of the village at 117 chemin Kandahar.

A sudden craving for something sweet? The Cabane à sucre de la Montagne provides delicious maple products, honeys and homemade jams. It’s lower down in the village at 161 chemin du Curé Deslauriers.

Stock up on souvenirs

Want a truly unique souvenir? The Studio Creatif offers artists and enthusiasts the opportunity to hand-paint their own beautiful ceramic souvenirs: figurines, boxes, bowls and more. Located at 151 chemin du Curé Deslauriers.

And you’ll find, at 118 chemin de Kandahar, the shop Tremblant & Co. It’s the perfect place to unearth great souvenirs. Here you’ll find a wide choice of Tremblant brand clothing items for the whole family, as well as a huge selection of decorative objects. Happy Holidays!
