Canadian Tire helping children

Fondation Bon Départ Canadian Tire – the Canadian Tire foundation whose goal is to help youth – has given $17,000 to the Fondation Tremblant to help young people in the MRC des Laurentides.

The money was used to buy about fifty items at Canadian Tire Mont-Tremblant, the property of Michel Deslauriers, who provided the items at extraordinarily low prices. The articles, along with a number of other items given by other donors, were then turned over to the Fondation Tremblant for visitors to bid on at the Fondation’s recent cocktail reception and auction. In all, the 300 items brought in close to $130,000.

While adding to the diversity of the items available at the annual Fondation Tremblant auction, the gift also helped extend the assistance of the Fondation Bon Départ Canadian Tire to an increasing number of children in the MRC des Laurentides. “We hope that this association with the Fondation Bon Départ Canadian Tire will last a long time,” the Fondation Tremblant indicated via press release.

Since its founding, the Fondation Tremblant has given close to $3,750,000 to organizations dedicated to helping children, from Val-Morin to La Minerve. In 2016 alone, $300,000 was distributed to help the children. Charitable organizations dedicated to children in the MRC des Laurentides are invited to visit the Fondation Tremblant website in the fall so they can obtain, complete and hand in their funding request.
