Tremblant Gourmand

By Eva Kolaczynska

Tremblant’s pedestrian village will be the site again, for a fourth consecutive year, of the festival known as Tremblant Gourmand.

The event is perfect for active epicures who seek to balance a healthy life, the pleasures of the palate, and discovery. A plethora of activities bring together thousands of festival-goers who, like me, like to move, eat and drink.

MOVE

The “must” at the festival, the Grande Randonnée – the Big Hike – on the mountain is a circuit that joins the pedestrian village and the Des Ruisseaux trail, where fifteen or so tasty culinary stops reward your efforts all along the way. To participate in the tastings of the Grande Randonnée and to obtain the ultimate level of enjoyment from the festival, get your Passeport L’Épicurieux, which will allow you special access, offers and exclusivities.

Bike rides

For fans of biking and landscapes, a 50-km ride punctuated by three delicious experiences will take place daily. Check out the CycloGourmandes, Thursday and Friday, hosted by Gourmet Sauvage, a local company that spotlights wild plants.

Wild mushrooms

To unearth the mycologist in you and demystify gathering wild mushrooms, choose the daily events, morning and afternoon, during which you can pick, identify and taste Laurentian forest mushrooms.

Yoga and hike

Another agreeable activity brings together yoga and mountain hiking and allows participants to restore themselves in awe-inspiring surroundings.

There’s the Trek Yoga Gourmand, as well, hosted by extraordinary female ambassadors. Reservations required; daily departures.

Fans of running or trail running: this one’s for you! You will run as a group led by a certified guide as you take on the paths and trails. Distances vary from 3 km to 8 km. The activity is adapted for all levels.

EAT

A craft and exhibitors fair will provide you with the opportunity to discover products and foods; it’s a perfect chance to experience new tastes, meet Québec producers, enlarge your palate and buy some tasty treats.

For fans of grilled foods, a zone dedicated to the BBQ will be erected this year and a space set aside for specialized foods will be one of this year’s new offerings.

Chefs, nutritionists, flavour specialists, spirits ambassadors, mixologists and sommeliers – wine stewards – will all be present to provide you with a variety of tastes. This is the place to go to perfect your knowledge, to awaken the chef in you or to taste some of the demonstration dishes. Again, access is only for those having the passeport gourmand.

Consult the event website to find out about the large number of culinary activities, such as the Masters’ Class with Jonathan Garnier or a meal made by Olivier St-Arnaud, chef at the Altitude restaurant of Casino de Mont-Tremblant.

DRINK

The Caveau à Vin is the place for wine lovers. Spaces dedicated to strong spirits and cocktails will permit you to track the newest trends. Patrice Plante will be back this year to offer advice and provide mixology presentations.

A variety-filled, taste-tempting festival for active epicures: see you there, to Move, Eat and Drink.
