Celebrating 10 years of just awesome

The Demi Marathon Mont-Tremblant is a celebration each summer. A celebration of running, of community and of the joy of movement.

This year, however, there is even more to celebrate. On August 11, the Demi Marathon Mont-Tremblant celebrates ten years of awesomeness. Ten years of awesome running. Ten years of awesome team spirit. Ten years of working with an awesome community to build one of the premier running events in the country.

History in the making

Over 20,000 athletes have crossed the Demi Marathon Mont-Tremblant finish line. This year, as the event celebrates its 10th anniversary, another 2,500 athletes will collect a finisher’s medal.

As in each year past, there will be first time runners and seasoned professionals. There will be athletes walking their first 5K and runners looking for a 10K personal best. First time half-marathoners and runners taking on their tenth.

Mothers pushing baby carriages, teams working in tandem to reach the finish line, and hundreds of children churning out a blazing 1K sprint down the centre of town.

The event is a mix from every walk of life… our life, our community, our race… our Tremblant at its best.

Host of the Provincial Championship 21.1K Road Race

The allure of the Demi Marathon Mont-Tremblant has brought athletes from all over the world to the playground we call Tremblant.

This year will be no exception as it hosts the coveted Quebec Provincial Championship for the 21.1K road race distance.

An amazing elite field of athletes will join over 1,000 runners for the 21.1K this year. From the race start in Tremblant resort at Place St-Bernard to the last sprint toward Parc au Fil de l’Eau at city hall, the air will be electric as runners compete not only to cross the finish line first, but to break the 2017 1:12:59 course record set by Abdoul-Aziz Kimba-Djado.

A celebration run

Awarded gold label event status from the Fédération Québécoise d’athlétisme (FQA), with certified gold courses by Athletics Canada and the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF), the Demi Marathon Mont-Tremblant has a team that’s planning an epic 10th anniversary celebration.

From a live band and free beer (ages 18+) at the finish line to amazing gifts, surprises and a special anniversary t-shirt.

 Event launch: party prep unveiled

The party gets underway at Château Beauvallon on Thursday, May 16, at 5 p.m., as the organizing team unveils its plans for its 10th anniversary celebration.

Everyone is invited. Plan to attend, meet up with the running community and find out what’s in store for you this summer. A live DJ, great food, free beer – let’s get this party started!
