Giving children a gift of nature

Studies always show the benefits of outdoor activity. At a time when children are glued to their screens, the Domaine Saint-Bernard provides excellent access to nature. It would be too bad not to take advantage of it.

Offering new experiences, stimulating the development of children and sensitizing them to the environment are just some of the advantages obtained through contact with nature. Most importantly, children who learn young about the joys of being outdoors integrate and retain the knowledge as part of their lifestyle as they grow up.

The Domaine Saint-Bernard, in collaboration with its partners, offers a new program whose goal is to allow children of this region to enjoy nature-based experiences.

Whether as a childcare program for children in primary or nursery school, on professional development (PD) days or during the Spring Break, the Domaine Saint-Bernard provides an alternative well worth considering. The children are supervised by devoted, caring counsellor-facilitators right in the heart of nature in Mont-Tremblant.

Since September, a childcare program has been available to children from the primary school campus of Mont-Tremblant. Every Tuesday and Thursday, a school bus brings children to the Domaine Saint-Bernard as soon as their classes are over so that they can take advantage of nature through a range of activities.

In winter, Tuesdays are dedicated to cross-country skiing as an instructor from the Ski de Fond Mont-Tremblant (Mont-Tremblant Cross-country Skiing) initiates the children into this fine sport. In this way, the young people can discover and enjoy the Domaine’s network of trails. Thursdays are dedicated to music via Le Petit conservatoire d’Estelle, after which the children can expend some energy playing outdoors.

Since January, the Domaine has also provided childcare to nursery school youngsters on Wednesday afternoons. The bus brings the children to the Domaine after their last morning class so they can come and have fun, learn and relax.

Children can also be signed up for PD days as well as for Spring Break week.
