Beautiful days in the outdoors

In addition to the hiking that allows our visitors to admire the trees dressed in their magnificent fall colours, we offer our visitors several activities such as a workshop on processing medicinal plants, a new theme in our astronomy program, and a “cross triathlon”.

If you read this article in time, you’ll be able to participate in the last of the workshops provided by Domaine Saint-Bernard volunteers on processing medicinal plants, On September 1 at 9:30 a.m., Louise Blanchard, herbalist, and Hélène Marie Tétrault, therapist, will teach us how to process plants to make herbal teas, decoctions, mother tinctures and creams in order to take care of ourselves.

The workshop is free, but park entry fees apply for your vehicle.

At the Velan astronomy pavilion our astronomer, Alain Préfontaine, will help you discover the role of space probes in understanding our solar system. After having walked on the moon, humans became interested in the other planets in our neck of the woods. We can’t travel to them ourselves, but we have built probes able to travel for years in space to carry out their mission when they reached their destination.

Register for our astronomy evenings, held every Saturday evening at 8 p.m. For more information: domainesaintbernard.org.

And there’s a big premiere this month. On September 8, Domaine Saint-Bernard is happy to host the cross-triathlon XTERRA Tremblant. The event is part of the Québec Series of the XTERRA circuit, which includes XTERRA Québec (City) and XTERRA Bromont. There are several aspects to the triathlon, including open water swimming, mountain biking, and trail running. (See pp 18 and 19).

I wish you a beautiful September. Take advantage of it to connect with nature. Our trails await you. Happy end of summer!
