Bel Air Tremblant: high-end living in the mountains

This new type of project for the Mont-Tremblant area, Bel Air Resort et Résidencesbrings together a valued resort and a high-end residential neighbourhood. The community, as it is referred to by project instigator Eric Harari, provides a range of services and facilities. Here’s a brief tour.

Accessible from chemin du lac Mercier, the project extends over 535 acres. In the medium term, Bel Air Tremblant will be composed of a 140-house residential district plus a rental district with 90 Minilofts having two, three or four bedrooms. For close to two years, four rental units have been accommodating vacationers and allowing the quality of construction of the residences proposed by the promoter to be judged. The Clubhouse alone, which was completed just prior to our visit, allows the visitor to grasp the breadth of this unique project.

To switch off…

The accommodation offered differs dramatically from that found elsewhere. These Minilofts in the forest, created by Izomax, provide what could be described as the nec plus ultrain terms of being truly surrounded by nature. Cleverly laid out, the Minilofts provide an open area from which one can admire the surrounding landscape, as well as bedrooms with full bathrooms. Ideal for stays with family or friends.

“The idea was to create an accommodation offering that is different, modern, providing open spaces, high ceilings, lots of window surface, and refined finishing. We have received more than 400 excellent reviews from travelers since we opened in 2015,” says Eric Harari. “Many of our customers return. Our Minilofts are even found in the Top-10 of TripAdvisor’s list of The world’s prettiest alpine chalets,” he adds.

The clubhouse

Close to the rental district, there’s a sumptuous clubhouse worthy of the greatest hotels. Health bar, gym, yoga centre, kids club, cinema, pool, spa and massage rooms are all part of the building. A few steps away there are tennis courts and pétanque to complete the offering. Everything here is dedicated to relaxation and well-being.

“We wanted to do things differently,” explains Eric Harari. “We built the clubhouse and some units prior to initiating promotion of the development. The rental houses also serve as model homes. Our Minilofts make it easy to get an idea of the quality of finishing in a house offering 2,000 square feet or more.”

For residents and vacationers

If a person wants to establish residence in this natural haven, he or she can choose from among 140 lots that go from 30,000 to 200,000 square feet in size. Sixteen different models of home, with a surface area of from 2000 to 4,500 square feet and from four to six bedrooms, have been designed by Mr. Harari’s team of architects. As with the Minilofts, each residence features modern architecture providing expansive spaces and large picture windows. Given that the project straddles the territories of Mont-Tremblant and La Conception, short-term rental will be authorized in the part located on La Conception territory.

“The idea is to be able to offer properties to several different kinds of markets. The plans allow us to create different neighbourhoods, all homogeneous,” says Eric Harari.

Where nature is important

We’ll note, in closing, that the residents of Bel Air Tremblant will have access to a private lake over four hectares in area, which is ideal for kayaking, fishing and other watersports. The clubhouse provides a view over a 19-acre plain that should allow, in the future, accommodation of a small farm with animals.

“We want to offer a natural environment with an organic side to it. We could, in the future, go get eggs and – why not? – organic vegetables at the farm,” concludes Mr. Harari.
