Celebrate Christmas with Schubert and Vivaldi

100 choristers under the direction of Michel Brousseau

The Chœur Tremblant invites you to attend its Christmas concert, featuring Schubert’s Mass in C Major and Vivaldi’s Gloria, as well as traditional Christmas songs and carols. The concert will be held on Sunday, December 10, at 3 p.m. in the church of Saint-Jovite.

Those present will hear glorious music from Ania Hajnar, soprano, Stéphanie Pothier, mezzosoprano, Antoine Bélanger, tenor, and Pierre-Etienne Bergeron, bass, as well as the choirs and orchestra of the Société philharmonique du Nouveau Monde, of which the Chœur Tremblant is a part.

With this last mass, Franz Schubert, although not a religious person, offers a very personal interpretation of the Latin liturgical texts. It is said that in these he found an expression of the emotions – both jubilatory and discouraged – which reflected his own beliefs and doubts. As to the Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi, which arises from the Catholic liturgy, it is full of praise and expresses joy, lyricism and virtuosity.

Tickets can be obtained now, for $35, in two ways: for cash from the choir members or at L’Apostrophe Plus stationery store at 1090 rue de Saint-Jovite in Mont-Tremblant; or online by credit card via the Eventbrite platform, which is accessible through the Choeur Tremblant website at choeurtremblant.com. Entry is free for students aged 18 and under upon presentation of a valid piece of identification.
