A skating rink on Lac Raynaud

It’s a first in over 20 years for the Domaine Saint-Bernard! You can now skate on a rink about one kilometre in length on Lac Raynaud. Early in the season, the conditions were not good for building our skating trail in the forest. As a result, the Domaine team asked itself: why not think outside the box?

Tests to assess the lake ice started after we had obtained the required authorizations. A team bored holes in the ice for two weeks to evaluate the thickness. Lake ice is much rougher than rink ice. It’s subject to the influence of weather: wind, sun, snow and more. So the next step for Lac Raynaud was to flood it to smooth the surface.

The rink runs around the lake, on the ice close to the shore. At the entrance there’s a place to relax, a fireplace, benches and picnic tables. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your own skates (the Domaine does not rent skates), and you are strongly advised to wear a helmet. The Domaine Saint-Bernard team hopes to see you soon!

New measures for entry to the Domaine

In response to public health requirements, the Domaine Saint-Bernard must keep a daily register of all visits. To facilitate this, people who have a Vivre Mont-Tremblant card must now complete an online form on the domainesaintbernard.org website. A unique QR code (Quick Response code) associated with the card number will be sent by email and must be presented at the entrance booth.
