Wonderful transition for La Petite Cachée

The restaurant La Petite Cachée changed hands last month. Located on the chemin du Village, the restaurant – which features fine Mediterranean cuisine and has a spectacular view of Mont Tremblant – is now piloted by Julie Zyromski, author of the column Laurentian Cuisine in this publication.

Chef by training and founder of Oatbox, Julie has a bachelor’s degree from HEC, a diploma in cuisine from ITHQ and a master’s degree from the university of gastronomic sciences in Italy. She is passionate about the culinary arts and has published a number of recipes as well as a book of vegan cuisine from Éditions La Presse.

“La Petite Cachée has an excellent reputation,” says Julie. “We’ve been regular guests for a number of years. I consider the building – built in 1996 by Manon and Normand – to be simply magnificent,” she adds.

“We are just so happy that it will be Julie who is taking over,” say former owners, Manon Millette and Normand Chalifour. “She’s from this area and knows it well.”

A family affair

Surrounded by a family of impassioned people, the sparkling chef grew up in clan Zyromski; her father owns the famous greenhouses of the same name as well as a prestigious vineyard.

“It’s a given that we serve the greenhouse products,” Julie explains, “as well as wine from my father’s vineyard. My two brothers also help with the big decisions and the financing.”

Julie is taking on the entrepreneurial adventure with the firm intention of ensuring that this renowned culinary establishment keeps going and growing.

“There’s development potential, particularly on the lower level which could become a wine bar, and we’d like to start offering dishes to go… We have so many ideas, but we’ll see,” she concludes. It’s important to make a reservation.

The restaurant – open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. – is full every night.
