A different way to detox

You have surely heard of several forms of dietary detox. Today we would like to introduce you to another way to detox. Simplify your life! When you think about it, simplifying our daily life can bring us balance, freedom and joy. By living more simply we can benefit more fully from each experience that life offers us.

How to simplify your life

Here is a list of ways that can help you simplify your life, based on your experiences, conversations and observations, so that you can start living a more balanced lifestyle and thus keep your smile.

  1. Our material goods: it’s a good idea to look at the objects, clothes, etc. that you have not used for one year and donate them to a charity.
  2. Our time-consuming commitments: learning to say NO more often than YES.
  3. Our objectives: rather than having resolutions that do not materialize from one year to the next, why not identify three main objectives, work out and write down a plan for achieving each and take action now.
  4. Our conversations: we have two ears and one mouth. Let’s listen twice as much as we talk.
  5. Our time spent in front of screens: instead of being spectators to the lives of others, why not be the actors in our own lives?
  6. “Multitasking”: this is an illusion; the human brain cannot do two (or more) things at the same time efficiently. So let’s choose to do one thing at a time and do it right.

We’ll end our column by inviting you to ask yourself the following question: “Where and how can I remove distractions and simplify my life to focus on the essentials?”
