Things to do at the Domaine Saint-Bernard

Hiking with the hound…and hovering in the hot-air balloons

Fall is here. Mother Nature is awash with colour and our calendar of activities has, yet again, a panoply of activities for your enjoyment!

An event you won’t want to miss: the walk for La Traversée along with hot-air balloon rides. It will be held on Saturday, October 13, and brings together a special activity and a good cause. You can make a difference, contributing to this fundraiser by signing up for a walk over distances ranging from three to 10 km and/or for a ride in an (attached) hot-air balloon at $10 per person.

The rides will take place at the beginning and end of the day and are somewhat dependent on the temperature. This aerial activity has been offered in October for the past several years to raise funds for a local organization. This year, we are proud to be associated with the Fondation La Traversée. The funds raised will contribute to opening the coming palliative care facility. For details, check the event page.

Something new this fall: a trail for dogs

©André Chevrier

We are very happy to announce that we are launching a pilot project to meet a need of dog owners. This dog trail was inaugurated Sunday, October 7, provides a 2-km loop. On that day, it was possible to attend a workshop with Colette Peiffer and Nicole Aubin, both handlers. The objectives of the subjects tackled were to educate people and help make dog-owners responsible concerning the use of public areas and infrastructure.

Workshops will also continue over the subsequent weeks. This dog trail pilot project will end in mid-December and could be restarted, depending on the environmental impact and on user satisfaction.
