The 2021-2022 ski racing season is officially launched for the Canadian Alpine Ski Team with the first giant slalom events being held in Sölden, Austria, on October 23 and 24. Valérie Grenier got the season off to a flying start, finishing seventh after an impressive first run that set the tone for the team.

This race provided her best finish in a World Cup Giant slalom event, a result of which she’s very proud after having worked hard to come back from a serious injury which kept her off the circuit for almost two seasons.

“It was one of the best moments of my life,” she declared. “The conditions were perfect and the crowd was present and supportive.”
