Passionate about cars, photography…and the visual arts
Bernard Franke, owner of the Franke Mercedes Benz dealership in Sainte- Agathe-des-Monts, recently entrusted a business called Funky Art Cartel with the job of painting the containers holding his customers’ tires. Combining the pleasant and the useful, he photographed the car that starred in his September advertising.
“Like many companies in this area, we have containers. Even though mine weren’t visible to the public, I didn’t find them attractive. In reading an article, I discovered the Funky Art Cartel, a trio of talented young women from Val-Morin whose mural art style has a Laurentians flavour. I decided that it would make a nice backdrop for my car advertisements and add beauty to my premises,” he explains.
Bernard Franke started his photography in 1996. During his career, he has shot 23 Formula 1 Grands Prix as well as the summit of Kala Patthar, in Nepal. Mr. Franke is using this medium to add distinctive colour to his company’s advertisements. And he’s also doing the montage of the ads himself, using Photoshop and Indesign.
