Downtown Mont-Tremblant will be even livelier than usual during Mont-Tremblant en fête, held for a first time over two weekends from July 18 to 29. Mont-Tremblant and area residents, as well as seasonal residents and vacationers, can look forward to several new attractions at this fun-filled, bargain-filled family festival.

Mont-Tremblant en feteis free of charge with a format that aims to please young and old in a festive, fun-filled atmosphere on the rue de Saint-Jovite. The event, which traditionally lasted five days, this year offers 10 days of activities with a break on Monday and Tuesday, July 23 and 24. As usual, there will be a fairground – with two new rides for teens – set up in the area beside and behind the church, from July 18 to 22. To attract both browsers and bargain-hunters, store owners will move their merchandise outside onto the sidewalks for the sale that runs from July 25 to 29.

New this year

The fairground will, for the first time, host two music shows per evening from July 18 to 22. In addition, music shows will be presented onstage on rue de Saint-Jovite on July 26, 27 and 28. These will be in addition to those planned in several establishments: Belzebuth (July 20), Antipasto (July 25 and 26), Casse-Croûte d’en Haut (July 26 and 27) and Pizza & Cie (July 26, 27 and 28). The 2018 event will also feature not one, but three fireworks displays! So the downtown sky will light up on Thursday, July 19 and 26, as well as on Saturday, July 28. Another activity sure to please young and old: the obstacle race for dogs and a training demonstration presented by L’Ami Ideal pet shop on the afternoon of July 28. Family Day will wind up the festivities on Sunday, July 29, with a drumming activity for all and three inflatable water games, not to mention the traditional duck race.

While some activities previously included will not be on the program for this 33rd version, this year there will be music shows and a highly enriched fireworks section. The latter will also have a bigger role in future programming, as event promoter Kino Marcenay wants to offer more fireworks. “We’ll be going all out with this when the public space is ready,” he adds, mentioning that there should be from four to six fireworks displays starting next year.

Don’t forget that entry to the Mont-Tremblant en fetesite is free, as are the activities, with the exception of the fairground rides.
