Holiday Season launch ahead

With December coming up fast, the Choeur Tremblant has a plan to help you launch your own Holiday Season ‘21. The Christmas concert – the choir’s first as a freestanding organization under its new artistic director Louis Babin – is scheduled for Sunday, December 5 at 4 p.m. in the Saint-Jovite church.

The name of the concert is Célébrons ensemble! (“Let’s Celebrate Together!”), which seems very fitting at this particular time in this particular year. After all, it feels like many things are getting better. Time to start moving into a more positive frame of mind, to look to happier times ahead.

The music for the event is eclectic: classical and contemporary, playful and haunting, traditional and novel: Bach, Mendelssohn, Lennon, Berlioz, Cohen, Handel… all chosen to work together and create a beautiful, varied program for this first concert. The choir will be accompanied by a string trio (violin. viola and cello) and the pianist Céline Laverdure.

Tickets, which are $25 – or $50 for a VIP ticket (with seating at the front of the church) – will be available from choir members (cash or cheque) and at Hamster L’Apostrophe plus (cash only) at 1090 rue de Saint-Jovite.

The Choeur Tremblant is our very own, local choir, made up of people from the Mont-Tremblant region and the Upper Laurentians. There will be 30 or so people on the stage, not 100-plus, and the quality of the music remains top-notch. It’s an opportunity to “shop local” for a moving, marvellous experience.
