Safe snowmobiling

Between Mont-Laurier and Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts there are 142 kilometres of snowmobile trails. On the sections located on Ville de Mont-Tremblant territory, the Club de motoneige Diable et Rouge snowmobile club and its members work jointly with the Ville’s Police Department to ensure that the trails are safe.

Members of the operations support group of the Department are specifically trained in snowmobile interventions, providing assistance to victims requiring rescue as well as going after lawbreakers.

While there has never been a fatal accident in Mont-Tremblant, the Sûreté du Québec provincial police have reported, to February 2, ten deaths in Quebec since the season opened.

Cinematic speed detection
Are you aware that when measures were put in place to reduce speeding by car drivers, measures were also initiated on snowmobile trails so that speed limits would be respected? Besides the primary objective, which is to ensure user safety, respect for speed limits minimizes the negative impact caused by the noise of the engines. And so you know that snowmobile clubs exist thanks to the participation of landowners who provide rights-of-way? So if snowmobilers travel too fast or leave the trails, they place the survival of their club in jeopardy.
