Taste treats ahead

Taste discoveries, surrounded by nature.

La Grande Gourmandise

The first ever Tremblant Resort event called La Grande Gourmandise, concocted specifically for those who love good food and drink and are active, will be held the weekend of September 8 to 9 at Tremblant Resort. The sole objective, we hear, is to generate enjoyment.

Visitors will be able to taste foods and drinks – with or without alcohol – and enjoy food preparation demonstrations, entertainment and a sports-related aspect of the event, while they take full advantage of Tremblant’s beautiful, natural, surroundings.

The event, a version of which has been taking place in Boucherville since 2011, is a unique opportunity to bring producers, stockbreeders and food professionals to mingle with the general public. Visitors will be able to meet and talk with people from the Laurentians and Québec terroir who are presenting their products to food lovers and gourmets.

It is the gourmet experience and not to be missed, we’re told.

Festivities and taste discoveries, surrounded by nature

The daring will be offered original activities, including a meal on the mountain and taste opportunities for bubblies or luxury products with a sommelier at twilight on Lac Tremblant.

All this will take place at the Centre nautique Pierre Plouffe on Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Special experiences in the big top

Those taking part in the program of culinary encounters and demonstrations will include Paquale Vari of the TV program l’Émission Les Chefs; Éric Godemaire, specialist in scotches; and Élyse Lambert, the world’s sixth-best sommelier (or wine steward).

Original culinary experiences in restaurants will complete the slate for this first-ever event.

The Grand Prix des Saveurs

There will be a sports-related aspect to the Grande Goumandise program. The Grand Prix des Saveurs is a timed mountain ascent open to all ages and levels of athleticism. An energy drink or a cold beer, a cereal bar or a slice of dried sausage, and a glass of water or an espresso will be among the choices that participants have to make during their fun-filled climb.
