Just what is the Boutique Magis?

La carte VISA magis.

You may have noted, on page 62 of this issue, an ad announcing the new partnership between Tremblant Express and Boutique Magis. The latter allows its members to increase its members’ buying power by 25 to 40 percent. Let’s take a closer look.

The founders of Média Boutique Inc. have managed to create a unique purchasing product: a Magis Visa card, prepaid and rechargeable, which allows increased buying power in participating businesses. It’s a first, made possible by a collaboration between Média Boutique and Lune Rouge Innovation, Guy Laliberté’s investment fund.

“We dreamed of providing consumers with a product free of any constraint and which, instead of a discount, provided more purchasing power,” explains Michel Fortin, co-president of Média Boutique.

“The Magis Visa represents the nirvana of the purchasing experience where the consumer is welcomed into the store in the same way as if they were not benefiting from a promotion. In fact, he or she is the only one to know that they have obtained 25 to 40 percent more money to spend in that business,” says Hugues Mailhot, co-president of Média Boutique.

According to Michel Fortin, that discretion is the project’s keystone. With the Magis Visa card, the consumer is never faced with an embarrassing situation that could adversely affect their customer experience. What’s more, the merchant has no need to deal with additional training in order to be able to accept the customer’s discount card.

Life takes Visa, as the slogan goes.

 Local business promoted

“Since the launch of our first online business platform, we have allowed the purchasing power of consumers to increase by 35 percent in local businesses. That’s more than two million dollars redistributed to our members for local consumption,” adds Michel Fortin.
