The forest burns on the outskirts of Mont-Tremblant
“The biggest fire we’ve ever had” — Mathieu Darmana
According to information obtained from Mathieu Darmana, director of the Mont-Tremblant Fire Safety Department, the forest fire covering an area of 24 hectares occurred yesterday in the late afternoon. Sopfeu deployed four teams and two Canadair CL 415s to control the flames.
No building was touched. The fire, which raged in a mountainous area, was at the end of montée Tassé, at the intersection of chemin du Poste des Grands Brûlés between Mont-Tremblant and Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré.
