Tremblant’s fifth festival of alpine touring will be held from February 8 to 10, and new activities have been dreamed up this year for people who enjoy the climb as well as the downhill slide.

A wide range of tours

The event provides three days of festivities, challenges and discoveries. “Every activity will be equally well suited to the curious, the connoisseurs and the true enthusiasts,” explains Annique Aird, Tremblant’s VP sales, marketing and communication. Starting on Friday afternoon, there’ll be alpine tours, group tours for newbies, splitboard tours, a Free Climb tour, a yoga tour and more. As well as a privilege booklet to use in the resort shops, the Festival passport provides a number of advantages including preferential rates and a season pass for alpine touring.

New this year

“Since its first running,” Annique Aird continues, “the Festival has seen strong growth of participant numbers. For this fifth event, there are two new tours planned: a mountain descent by fatbike, and the Rando gourmandefor foodies. The Festival is also a terrific opportunity to try new activities and plunge into all the treats that the mountain provides.”

Safety is central

To guarantee participants the max in terms of safety, the Station Mont Tremblant instructors’ team will be mobilized through the whole Festival period. “Whether many register for a specific tour or not, every tour on the program will take place,” announces Annique. “And every one will be led by one of our experienced guides.”

A magical tour

The high point of the Festival remains the night tour: the Traversée nocturne. “Every participant wears a headlamp; the tour takes place in silence; the snow crunches quietly as we pass…. It’s magical,” says Annique. The tour ends with a big bonfire and then moves on to the Fourchette du Diable for a huge cheese fondue.

“To answer your question, yes,” Annique confides. “It’s entirely possible that some love stories will begin on the mountain at Tremblant, particularly during our famous Traversée nocturne.

Worth noting for those who like alpine touring and skiing, as well as promising encounters as Valentine’s Day approaches!
