CROSSROADS TREMBLANT
On May 25, 26 and 27, the all-new cycling festival Crossroads Tremblant invites you to come celebrate the beginning of summer. Families, enthusiasts and the totally keen will be delighted by the range of activities offered and the opportunity to check out the performance of the new assisted mountain bikes and other rides. On Saturday night, the Crossroads party, with bonfires, barbecue and a tailgate atmosphere, will see event participants gather at the Beach and Tennis Club on Lac Tremblant.

On the pavement
There will be a number of activities to suit all kinds of cyclists. Women are invited to spend a day specially designed by other female cycling specialists (peppermintcycling.com). A race against the clock will see performance addicts competing on a portion of the Ironman circuit. Three categories of cyclists will compete in peloton format on a 1.5 km loop at 50 km/h in the heart of the resort in the Critérium – an event that offers speed and an electrifying atmosphere. Recreational cyclists will have their interests attended to, as well, and can pedal at their own speed on the 10-km paved trail. Children will enjoy the fun on the course while adults will take advantage of the stops and gourmet stations (shuttle available). The Sunset ride provides free rides in small groups and the opportunity to discover new itineraries ranging in distance from 30 to 50 km.
The weekend’s major event is the Gran Fondo Mont-Tremblant presented by Desjardins. Close to 2,000 participants are expected for this popular event on Sunday, May 27.

On the trails
The downhill trails will be accessed via the gondola and open only for the event. A fun discovery area complete with a roller track and obstacles will be dedicated to children and young people who want to try it out, have fun or surpass themselves on two wheels…under supervision. The event will include clinics, loans of bikes, coaching sessions and demonstrations. In cross-country, participants will discover new trails as well as improvements to the over-60-km network of trails. Every day, the Big Air shows will present demonstrations of jumps, jam sessions and trials. In the evenings, mountain biking enthusiasts are invited to a guided ride, lit by their headlamps.
The 24th Québec/Canada Cup of mountain biking will be presented this year as part of the Crossroads Tremblant event. Racers from all over the country will face off in the downhill and cross-country trials.
Registration is required for many of the activities.
